FERRYHILL 2 RA JUNIORS 5

This week the RA juniors faced Ferryhill town away. The juniors got off to a great start when Tom Watson was brought down in the penalty area, Jack Ridley converting the spot-kick. Ferryhill struggled to cope with the RA's fast passing game and it was no surprise when Ridley slotted past the Ferryhill keeper to make it 2-0. The RA were playing some good football and coping well against some crazy decisions from the referee. The RA's third goal came from a Watson cross headed home by Ridley to score his second successive hat-trick for the RA. Ferryhill pulled a goal back when the RA defense were expecting the offside flag but the referee allowed the goal to stand! Tommy Watson finally got on the scoresheet when he rounded the keeper and slotted into the open net.

In the second half the RA , now kicking uphill continued to pass the ball well without having to play in top gear. The RA's fifth goal came when Andy Grey was put through on goal and chipped the ball over the Ferryhill keeper. The home side scored a late consolation goal but the RA hung on to record a good victory and set them up for next weeks big cup semi final tie with Hartlepool FC.
