New Marske 2 RA JUNIORS 2

The RA juniors played their final game of the season last sunday against promotion rivals New Marske. The juniors fell behind in the first minute of the game when keeper Shaun Harrison was robbed of the ball and the ball was played to Jones who slotted home into an empty net. RA gradually got back into the game and were back level after Tom Watson rounded the home keeper and finished well. five minutes later RA thought they had taken the lead when Matty Andrews scored but was harshly ruled out for offside. Just a minute later Tom Watson was brought down for a penalty and the leagues top scorer made no mistake with the spot kick to give the RA a 2-1 half-time lead.

RA continued to play well in the second half with Watson and Stokes missing good chances. Marske scored their second goal of the game when the referee allowed Fox's goal to stand dispite calls for offside. RA had chances to win the game, Jamis Stokes free kick going just over the bar and Tom watson firing just wide. 2-2 final score meant RA were promoted for the third successive season and still have the league cup final to play.
