RA JUNIORS 6 NUNTHORPE 2On a pitch that did not suit the R.A's passing game and a very determined Nunthorpe visiting Brinkburn Road this game had all the ingredients of an upset and disruption of the R.A.'s promotion challenge. This was more evident when Nunthorpe took the lead midway through the first-half when Shaun "the wall" Harrison, mis-judged a free kick allowing it to bounce in the net off the far post. This was to be the incentive the R.A. needed and Tom Watson levelled within five minutes, it remained 1-1 until half time despite the R.A. creating several good chances.
Straight from the kick-off Adam Hutchinson put the R.A. ahead tapping the ball into an empty net after rounding the Nunthorpe keeper, Lewis Harrison continued his excellent form and was rewarded when his left foot eighteen yarder flew into the bottom corner of the net, the Nunthorpe goal was now under constant pressure and there was always the danger of a break-away which proved to be the case when Nunthorpe pulled a goal back, this did not stop the Juniors from keeping their footballing morall, three more goals followed, two more from Tom Watson completing his hat-trick, and the last from full back James Howell who has now scored in consecutive weeks. The final score of 6-2 was probably what the R.A. deserved from their second-half performance.
