LEAGUE CUP 3RD ROUND

BROMPTON 5 RA JUNIORS 6

The RA faced Brompton juniors in the league cup this week. The RA got off to a slow start but finally took the lead after 15 minutes, Jack Ridley scoring from a free kick. Jack nearly added a second a minute later but was denied by the Brompton keeper. Five minutes later Adam Williams found his way clear with just the keeper to beat but fired his shot wide. The RA's next chance fell to Adam Hutchinson who made no mistake firing past the Brompton keeper to make it 2-0. Brompton scored their first 3 minutes later before Jack ridley scored the RA's third. On the half hour a RA corner found Kiel "the bullet" Mellor unmarked firing home from 6 yards. Two minutes later a goalmouth scramble saw Tom Watson score probably his easiest goal of the season from 1 yard out. 5-1 at half time.

Brompton started the second half well scoring three times in the first 15 minutes, with the score now 5-4 the RA had let Brompton back into this game. Jack Ridley went close on 65 minutes shooting just wide and again a minute later firing over. The RA finally got their first goal of the second half on 70 minutes Jack Ridleys shot well saved but the rebound fell to Craig White who finished well. The last five minutes saw Brompton score another goal but the RA hung on to progress to the next round.
